Hooch’s NFL Power 8 (Wk 1)

September 12, 2017 0 Comments

One week in and I’m already mad about injuries (thanks, Cardinals!!). Let’s look at a new top eight teams.

1) Pittsburgh (1-0) up one spot — Favorite stat of all-time (or at least Tuesday…) – Big Ben now has more wins in Cleveland than any one starting Browns QB since 1999. He has 11 and Derek Anderson had the lead with 10.

2) Kansas City (1-0) up four spots — Talk about Alex Smith all you want. Give me all the talk of Kareem Hunt. Told you right after the Spencer Ware injury that a few draft sources had him rated out as best overall RB available in draft. Well, 148 running and 98 receiving to go with three scores says a lot.

3) New England (0-1) down two spots — Replacing the synthetic turf at Gillette Stadium. Duh…

4) Green Bay (1-0) second straight week —  Nick Perry & Mike Daniels were beasts on defense against Seattle and some may not have liked it but I loved Martellus Bennett shoving KJ Wright after the hit on Aaron Rodgers. Oh, so did Rodgers.

5) Oakland (1-0) up two spots — Anytime you can make a 2nd-year QB throw it 40-plus times, you should be OK and that’s what the Raiders did against Tennessee.

6) Atlanta (1-0) down three spots — Didn’t look great at Chicago but needed it with games versus Green Bay, Detroit, Buffalo, Miami and New England all next on the schedule. That’s tough.

7) Minnesota (1-0) NR — No clue who Adam Thielen is, but that dude with the yellow gloves catches everything.

8) Dallas (1-0) NR — Dak is so freakishly calm in the pocket it’s amazing. But why can’t he connect with Dez Bryant at all?

Bye Bye: Seattle & Arizona
