Hooch’s NFL Power 8 (Preseason)

1) New England — No matter the single injury, this team is too good and too smart on offense with Tom Brady and too smart on defense with Bill Belichick.

2) Pittsburgh — How much does Joe Haden help? A lot or a little? If it has to be the prior then it could be damaging. Then how many games for RB Le’veon Bell? If he plays in 10 or more… Steelers look great in the No. 2 spot here.

3) Atlanta — Do they miss Kyle Shanahan? I’m stuck on that question big time. I’m not stuck on knowing that defense will fly like crazy with Keanu Neal, Desmond Trufant, Vic Beasley and Deion Jones.

4) Green Bay — Aaron Rodgers gets Martellus Bennett, who wants to win another one, and a healthy run game with a true No. 1 back in Ty Montgomery… yep, this team is loaded.

5) Seattle — Sheldon Richardson was a gift. But the offensive still stinks and we need to see Russell Wilson better and healthy. I’m not huge fan of the offense as a whole.

6) Kansas City — Here it is… Deja Vu for Alex Smith. Team wins 11 or 12 and Patrick Mahomes takes them deep into the postseason. Dare I say… Super Bowl??!!

7) Oakland — Are they ready? Derek Carr is really good but will the MVP talk and new contract weigh on him no matter the stats? People will use “overrated” a lot if he struggles at all.

8) Arizona — Possibly the best defense in the league with possibly the best overall RB in the league, it all revolves around a healthy line and better clutch kicking, though. Yes, I said kicking.
